This hike is a hidden gem in Austin. We got there about 10:45 and there was only 1 other car in the parking lot. We did all of the different trails. Rimrock, Indian Grass, Shin Oak, Pond and Prarie and Creek trail. The best one is Indian Grass. It is an up and down and then across a pretty open hilly field. I loved it. Make sure you add to the rock cairns.
When we left there were more cars in the parking lot, but still very tranquil. This one would be extremely hot in the summer so if you go in summer, be careful.

We hiked Pace Bend on February 18th and I didn't wear a shirt. You have to love Austin! We did not pass anyone else, but it was a weekday. The hike was supposed to be an up and back, but we ended up making it a loop by going down the road for the last mile to get back to our car. There are a couple of minor hills that give pretty good views, but with Lake Travis low, it is not particularly pretty. These trails are inside the road loop so there is never any water.

This is a great hike for dogs. Ours must have met 15-20 "friends" and it was a cold, not so pretty day. This is another one of those great hikes in the middle of Austin.

I had no idea this hike was right in the middle of Lakeway. It takes you all the way to Lake Travis. There are a lot of loops so it is not a lot of doubling back on yourself which I love. This is a great hike right in town. The solitude was nice and we did not hear much traffic or neighborhood noises.

This one is in my neighborhood and it never ceases to amaze me how tranquil it can be in the middle of two neighborhoods. This one can make a loop but you have to pass some Federal Endangered Wildlife signs coming out. Note the "loop" takes you through the neighborhood to get you back to Trailhead Park.
