As a descendant of the Preece's (my paternal grandmother was a Preece), I'm relatively familiar with this site. The oldest burial is most likely my great-great-great grandfather, Martin L. Preece, who was born in 1800 in Virginia (I believe in what is now West Virginia). The cemetery is a private cemetery but (to the best of my knowledge) unless locked is a site that can be explored by those of good will meaning to do no harm and are simply interested in those buried there who were important members of early Travis County's history.
