Again, I do not understand why these are broken into 3 different hikes. Also, it seems ther is nothing listed for the hike crossing over Spicewood. I have never seen anyone on that side of the road. We saw a horse and rider and this hike and one other person with a dog. THis is a great hike.

This hike was great for just rambling along one morning. There were not many people on the trail. It was not very difficult. It was just a great little hike.

I really enjoyed this one. There are people and dogs, and it runs along the road for some of the ways but overall it was great. Enjoyed dipping my feet in the water. Massive field of blue bonnets. Will return again.

Easy hike up the stream. Was fun going off trail and playing frogger on the rocks in the less than 1 foot deep water. Theres a rope swing at what looks like a cool place to go swimming. We will probably come back in the summer.
Slight elevation gain if you don't just follow the path that goes up the stream, but its nothing too difficult.
A couple of girls here jogging but no other people.
Decent short hike

Very nice in parts. Was okay but rather short and not too exciting. I prefer the Bull Creek hike down the road.
Too hot to think!

It was BLISTERING HOT when I visited this trail the other day, and I actually am not sure how much ground I covered (mileage-wise,) but I was only out there for about an hour. I had forgotten my hat, so the heat was hard to ignore. (The high was only 100. "Only." haha!)
I saw a few people, and no dogs. Also, I didn't see one bit of garbage, as some people have mentioned. But I did see one heck of a lot of cacti. :-)
The creek was very low. There were small pools in spots, packed with small fish with nowhere to go. It's been raining lightly for the past two days, so I'm hoping those poor fish are getting some relief.
In short, it just wasn't an enjoyable hike for me. (If you want to call it a "hike.") When it's cooler, I'll give this trail another shot.

Looped a portion of this one in with the hill trail this morning. Creek was flowing, but slightly low. Beautiful riparian corridor of limestone bluffs and large sycamores. I don't this portion of the creek ever runs dry
Pretty but not much variability

We hiked the full two miles out and back, and I was disappointed to see that the vast majority of the trail consisted of walking along a narrow (sometimes muddy) path nestled amongst waist-high greenery in the woods. It was enjoyable and the many spurs over to the creek afforded nice views (and many, many frog sightings!), but I was hoping for something besides the vanilla sameness that pervaded all but the first few minutes of the trail. Don't get me wrong -- it's a nice walk, but a destination like Comanche Bluff Trail would have been much more enjoyable.

Well, this by far was a very neat find. In that never as people before said, what a wonderful hidden jewel of Austin. The wife and I found this to be absolutely beautiful. We started out with the creek trail. And found alot of solitude in the serene beauty over the water cascading over the rocks. The cliff views were amazing with several waterfalls. Definately would bring a swimsuit next time through this way.
Nice hike, muddy but nice

Checked this out today. I especially liked the choice between hugging the banks of the river or the other trails in the wide open spaces. This was pretty muddy though, more so than the two other parks I hiked this week.

We strayed from the trail quite a bit, going down to the creek to look at rockface and waterfalls. One of these little paths goes right along the bank of the creek to a nice little stand of trees growing on a small island of sorts. Despite the trail's near proximity to Spicewood Springs, I was more aware of the trees than the cars. Willow, on the other hand, was more aware of the leavings of various critters. Ah - nature.

I took quite a few side trails back and forth on this one and combined it with some of the Hill Trail. I saw a few rabbits and a couple of deer but not many humans. I came back as it was getting dark to the sound of either emus or peacocks from the other side of the park, presumably from the preserve. What a walk!
Easy going and back to back.

St. Edwards Park along Spicewood Springs as described here is a fairly nice hike, despite the proximity to the road at times. However, just across Bull Creek lies the more secluded area of the park that has some nice trails too.
