A lovely hike as the sun was setting. I have lived in Georgetown for nearly 10 years and did not know that this beautiful area existed. If it weren’t for the noise from I-35 and the ample supply of rusty cans strewn around the area you would think you were in some wilderness, not in the middle of a city. The tin cans are evidence that people have been coming here for a long time. It makes me wonder what other wonderful features I am missing. I passed a group of 8-10 BMXers near the trail head. They have been quite industrious building a BMX course here. I wonder if the city knows what they have done, they seemed a little shifty when I walked by like maybe they built this on the sly. They were gone by the time I came back.
