Now living in the area, this hits closer to home. Some idiots are cutting out chunks of Redwood trees in state and national parks.

Though it appears they typically do their dirty work in the dead of night, hikers might notice some strange behavior going on during their trips out on the trails. If so, please report any such activity to the park rangers immediately. They might be able to prevent further looting of these wonderful trees.

Redwoods

Seriously, what is wrong with people?

Thanks: 1 times
They cut the burls out to make furniture... like coffee tables. Sad... Anyone that buys the goods is only supporting this poaching.

Here's the good news.
Happy Trails!

And there was much rejoicing in the woods.

I'm glad that they caught those responsible this time around. Surely the shop that's not being charged had to know something was up, right? Perhaps they phoned in the anonymous tip.
