Bastrop State Park - Lost Pines Trail [Hiking] - 4/23/2011  [View Log Page]
Rating: 3stars Difficulty: 2point5stars Solitude: 2point5stars
Distance: 7.50 Miles Duration: N/A

My gf and I hiked this trail on Saturday.  The trail is well marked and relatively flat.  It was a 90 deg F day and we really needed the extra water we packed with us.  You will see lots of fire damage for years past brush fires inside the park.  But don't let this stop you from experiencing the hike, there was plenty of plant life and green leaves on the trees.

Comanche Bluff Trail [Hiking] - 2/22/2009  [View Log Page]
Rating: 3stars Difficulty: 3stars Solitude: 4stars
Distance: 7.50 Miles Duration: 4 hours, 15 minutes

This is a nice half-day hike with medium difficulty.  The trail is not well marked, especially during the last mile near the primitive camping area.  Stay on the beaten path and you should eventually get to the campsite.  I was amazed at the amount of drift wood and plastic trash that has accumulated around the trail area during periods of high lake levels.  Be on the lookout for deer and hogs as you approach the last 1/3 of the hike!

Enchanted Rock [Hiking] - 2/8/2009  [View Log Page]
Rating: 4stars Difficulty: 3stars Solitude: 2stars
Distance: 4.50 Miles Duration: 4 hours

This loop trail is well marked and easy to follow.  Seveal rock climbers were visible on several sides of "The Rock".  This is certainly an impressive block of granite!

Rating: 4stars Difficulty: 3stars Solitude: 1star
Distance: 0.75 Mile Duration: 2 minutes

I had to climb "The Rock" while hiking the loop.  There are many people at the top, but the view of the surrounding countryside is beautiful.

Pedernales Falls - Wolf Mountain Trail [Hiking] - 2/1/2009  [View Log Page]
Rating: 3stars Difficulty: 3stars Solitude: 3stars
Distance: 8.25 Miles Duration: 5 hours, 30 minutes

Most of this hike is on an improved trail, gravel road, used to access the primitive camp site.  The ruins at Jones Spring is a nice stopping point for lunch.  Check out the stone fence next to the ruins; hand built & most have taken forever!  After the ruins, the trail narrows and is a little more difficult to follow.
